Riverflux Audio · Remix contest / DJ edit pack phase-check

Phase-checking remix contest stems and DJ edit packs before upload

Remix contests and DJ edit packs often ship stereo stems that looked huge in headphones, then lose bass on mono club systems. Disappearing lows are usually leftover L/R phase after layering, widening, or stacking provided stems. PHIXER is free continuous stereo phase repair (VST3 / CLAP / AU). It is not a time-aligner.

Hard clarify: Fix polarity and sample-align layered stems first. Use continuous phase rotation only when a stereo stem or DJ edit still hollows in mono after that hygiene. Do not flatten creative Haas width that is the identity of the edit.

Why remix stems and DJ edits fail on club mono

QC habit before upload

Remix / DJ edit mono fold checklist

  1. True L+R or Utility Width 0% on each stereo stem and on the full DJ edit (plus a phone speaker pass).
  2. Note what disappears (kick body, sub, bass bed, vocal double low-mids, FX tails).
  3. If layered provided stems are still late or flipped, fix polarity and timing first.
  4. Only then nudge PHIXER on residual spectral L/R fights. A/B with the plugin bypassed.
  5. Re-check after any mix bus glue or limiter. Upload only when mono still has body.
